Wilson Pro Staff

…one of the most popular rackets on the shelf

With the new season well underway the Wilson Prostaff 97 is fast becoming one of the most popular rackets on the shelf. Weighing in at 315g it is a little bit above our average weight but due to the balance it is a joy to swing. With a 97sq inch head it is a little bit lacking on power when compared to its 100sq inch rivals but what you lose in power you gain in feel. The Prostaff range is renowned for giving a classic feel which some players find is lost with some of the other frames out there. This classic feel is due to the braided graphite construction, it reduces vibration and improves touch and control.

As we’ve mentioned the most popular racket from the new Prostaff range is the 315g version, however if that is either too heavy or too light do not fear as there are a few other options. The Prostaff RF97 is the 340g frame that Roger Federer the G.O.A.T (Greatest of all time) uses, it is not a racket for the faint hearted. With a huge amount of weight it requires the player to be at the top of their game all the time, using only the best technique to get the best of the racket. If we drop down to a weight that doesn’t make your arm hurt just thinking about it then the Prostaff 97LS is definitely one to look at. At 290g and with a open stringing pattern to allow you to generate more spin the 97LS is just under our average weight and can’t be ruled out when looking for a more control based racket without the heavier weight normally associated with control. There is also the Prostaff 97ULS, ideal for the performance junior moving into their first full size racket (performance junior due to the headsize, good technique is needed for player to get the most from it) or the senior player wanting a lighter racket.

Long story short. Awesome feel, even better aesthetic. The new Wilson Prostaff is not one to be missed.
