The Astrox range are Yonex’s most attack orientated rackets and have super seeded the out-going Voltric range. Astrox rackets are known as ‘counterbalance’ frames. This means they will offer a more precise weight distribution throughout the grip end, frame top and joint, thus increasing the rotational power the racket provides.
The Astrox 100 ZZ has seen this technology enhanced further allowing for quicker consecutive shots and greater emphasis on controlled power as the player can react to the rapid changes of pace in a game, enabling you to generate power more frequently. An extra stiff shaft on the 100 ZZ will help you to control the shuttle more. However, your timing will need to be better to get the best out of the racket. As is with all Yonex rackets, this features their famous Isometric head shape which will increase the sweet spot on the racket. Therefore, even if you are hitting slightly off centre, you will find it a lot more forgiving compared to a conventional head shape. A hyper slim shaft makes the racket feel a lot lighter, more manoeuvrable and therefore, letting you generate a quicker swing speed.
Available in 2 weights, the Astrox 100 ZZ 3U is the heavier model of the two, allowing for a more solid feel.
As used by Viktor Axelsen, Yonex All England Singles Champion 2020.
Rotational Generator System: By applying the counterbalance theory, weight is distributed throughout the grip end, frame top and the joint for maximum control. The transition to the next shot can be performed smoothly with rapid succession.
Namd: Utilising high quality Namd graphite throughout the frame produces more flex with a faster snap back, unleashing dramatic steep power.
Hyper Slim Shafts – Designed to slice through the air, generating speedy power
Energy Boost Cap/Plus – Uniquely shaped cap which maximises shaft performance. The front allows the shaft to flex, while the sides arch-shaped curve stabilises the racket face by preventing the shaft from twisting
Isometric – Increases the size of your sweet spot
New Grommet Pattern – Single pass grommet holes for reduced string stress, maximising performance
Solid Feel Core – Reduces vibrations travelling down the shaft for improved comfort
AEROBOX Frame – A combination of faster swing speeds and a solid feel
New Built-in-T-Joint – The lightweight T-Joint increases stability of the shuttle on the strings, maximising power and control
Nanometric – Tightly bonded fibres enhance the rackets strength and minimise twisting during impact. Nanometric is a material which applies the Nanoalloy technology of Toray Industries Inc
Black Micro Core – Used for the first time in Yonex badminton rackets, black micro core is a stiff, high-density vibration-dampening material equipped into the upper part of the frame.
